A Wellness Approach to Aging

Get Stronger and Healthier Instead of Older: A Wellness Approach to Aging

Discover how Creek Stone Integrated Medical's combined wellness approach, including medical care, chiropractic care, targeted exercise, massage, and acupuncture, can help you stay strong and healthy as you age.

As we age, it is common to experience a decline in physical health and mobility. However, at Creek Stone Integrated Medical, we believe that aging does not have to mean getting weaker or less healthy. Through a combined wellness approach that includes medical care, chiropractic care, targeted exercise, massage, and acupuncture, we help our patients get stronger and healthier instead of older.

The American College of Physicians recommends a broad management protocol to combat back pain. Protocols they recommend for first line treatments are exercise, spinal manipulative therapy (chiropractic), massage, exercise, low-level laser, and more. Creek Stone offers all of that and A LOT MORE. So let’s talk about it all in a little more detail.

Medical Care

Our medical provider’s approach to medical care is through well care. Not the traditional ‘sick care’ model we all grew up with. Medical care is an essential component of our wellness approach. As we age, our bodies become more susceptible to illnesses and chronic conditions. Our medical team provides preventive care and treatment for a wide range of conditions, including diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, and more. Through regular check-ups, lab work, and screenings, we can detect potential health problems early on, before they become more serious. In addition, you get to choose if you want to use our IV hydration options that help you replenish vital vitamins and minerals whenever you like. Some patients with more advanced joint pain have Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments here at Creek Stone to revive their sore joints. Some of our patients, the ones that qualify for it, also opt to have our medical provider include hormone replacement pellets in their well-care treatment model for maximum benefit.

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care is another important aspect of our wellness approach. As we age, our bodies may experience joint pain, stiffness, and decreased mobility. Our chiropractic team uses non-invasive techniques to alleviate these symptoms and improve joint function. Motion is the lotion for the joints of our bodies. That goes for the small movements a chiropractor provides, all of the way up to large scale exercise in our rehab room or your gym. There’s a reason every major sports team from the NFL down through the college ranks has an evidence-based chiropractor on their staff. In addition to moving the joints of the body, chiropractic care may also include spinal decompression for disc problems in the spine, balance training, low-level laser treatments for joint pain, inflammation, and healing, or it may include a score of other therapies that chiropractors are licensed to perform.

Targeted Exercise

Exercise is crucial for maintaining strength and mobility as we age. However, not all exercise is created equally. Our protocol provides you with targeted exercise programs that are tailored to each patient's individual needs and goals. Whether you're looking to build strength, improve balance, or increase flexibility, we can help you achieve your goals. Once we have you pain free, we perform a Functional Movement Screen to show you small but potentially harmful imbalances that we can correct in hopes of preventing the pain or injury from coming back.

Massage

Massage is another important component of our wellness approach. As we age, our muscles and connective tissues become less pliable, making us more susceptible to injuries and chronic pain. Massage can help improve circulation, reduce muscle tension, and promote relaxation. Our massage therapists are trained in a variety of techniques, including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, aroma therapy, hot stone, sports massage, craniosacral, Thai massage, and trigger point therapy name a few.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese practice that has been used for centuries to promote healing and wellness. Acupuncture can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, including chronic pain, stress, tension, PTSD, headaches, and digestive issues. The VA system sends veterans over to Creek Stone every day for acupuncture and the veterans absolutely love it. They notice they’re sleeping better and, in combination with chiropractic care, are getting off of medication.

At Creek Stone Integrated Medical, by combining medical care, chiropractic care, targeted exercise, massage, and acupuncture, we help our patients stay strong, mobile, and healthy throughout their lives.
