Here’s A Quick Way To Learn About Ashiatsu From Amarillo Chiropractic Clinic
Amarillo chiropractic clinic massage therapist offers insights
What is Ashiatsu?
Ashiatsu is a type of extra deep tissue massage during which a therapist “walks” on the client’s back while using overhead bars for balance. The massage is performed with their bare feet instead of with their hands. Ashiatsu literally translated means foot- “ashi” pressure- “atsu”.
Why Ashiatsu?
Ashiatsu is perfect for lovers of deep tissue massage techniques, or for those who struggle to find a therapist to do deep enough work for them. Ashiatsu is also a wonderful modality to learn for therapists who are trying to conserve hand strength, or who aren’t strong enough to deliver deep tissue massage with their hands alone.
What are the benefits of Ashiatsu?
Ashiatsu works the deepest layer of muscles and connective tissue without hurting the patient because the deep pressure is diffused through the whole foot, and is applied to the whole affected area, not just a specific point.
Conditions treated by Ashiatsu?
*chronic back, neck, hip, and shoulder pain
*anxiety
*depression
Origin of Ashiatsu?
Ashiatsu dates back as far as the 12th century and has been performed by Buddist monks for centuries. Many different styles of Ashiatsu have originated from India, Japan, Thailand, and the Philippines.
