Hey y'all this is Dr. Jeff Williams with Creek Stone Integrated Care right here in Amarillo, TX. Today I wanted to talk to you about ways that what we do, chiropractic care and everything else combined....how we can increase your productivity. Everyone wants to be more productive, right? I know I do and these days we all like simple lists compiling our interests. That's our goal here today. We want to provide you with ways that can 'slay the day' every day. So let's get started shall we?

Pain-Free

If any healthcare provider claims to make their patients pain free, well, there's probably something wrong there. Houston, we got a problem. Taht would be an irresponsible claim. However, we track our chiropractic patients and approximately 80% of them have excellent recovery following chiropractic care here at Creek Stone.

What exactly does a successful outcome mean?

It means that the patient recovered and was satisfied with their treatment. In fact, we use software, like I said, that follows up with patients every 30 days. Not only do our patients achieve 78% plus, almost 80%, outcome rating, but our patients are also 99% likely to refer us to the friends and family members. And that is just outstanding! What a compliment.

When it comes to pain, it literally changes everything. From how you function, how productive you can be, it changes your relationships with the people around you. Pain changes everything. Now, imagine cutting your pain rating from a level of 7 on a scale of 1-10 down to rating of 2 or 3. As you can imagine, you're ready to get some stuff done at that point. Not only do you feel good and want to get more done, but you also want to work longer, honestly.

Your productivity will blow the roof off of the place if you're able to cut that pain level down to a mangeable level. Everything comes down to having less pain day-to-day.

Confidence

Next, confidence, you don't think about that one, right? Confidence kind of coincides with pain. When we're in pain, we're have less confidence in our movements. When we're less confident in our movements, we move slower and we move with measured and guarded patterns. If you hurt, the last think you want to do is hurt more or do somethin gstupid to re-injure yourself. Guess what? If you're less confident in your movement or your body, your brain actually alters signals coming into and leaving the central nervious system. This happens to the point it becomes detrimental. Without getting too technical, your brain can actually make you hurt worse. This is because your lack of confidence has told your CNS to set up protections to protect you from more injury.

When there's a lack of confidence and movement dysfunction, your brain sort of becomes dysfunctional on some level itself. That can cause mroe issues with the issues are really unecessary in the first place. When we're able to reduce your pain, we're able to raise your confidence in your movements. When we add exercise/rehab to the mix, you become stronger and when you become stronger, you don't hurt as bad.  You retrain the brain to behave it should be behaving.

Stress & Tension

The first questions would be, "Why would people take a hot shower or bath? Why do people get massages? Why do people go on vacations?" Our guess is that hot baths, massages, and vacations are relaxing. Relaxing helps you to destress. We live in a crazy world these days, don't we?

What research has shown us in recent years is that chiropractic care has a unique ability to reduce stress and tension. When you're feeling less stress and are more confident, you're naturally mroe productive. Remember that pain can change a person but the good news there is that chiropractors in Amarillo can change pain.

Physical Activity

While it's true that most of these all piggy back off one another, it's important to break them down individually. Think about your level of activity. If you're not very active right now, why is that? Let's be honest; some of us are just plain lazy. But what about thos that want to be active but that low back pain just isn't allowing it? Or they're not confident in that left hip enough to take it out for a jog. What about the ones that just want to be able to vaccuum their home but that activity really seems to fire up that low back?

We see this several times a day here in our office. In fact, we had a young mother comes see us just two weeks ago. She was in a car wreck in Amarillo TX and just had a brand new baby. all of the factors combined set off a barrage of pain and discomfor. To the point that she could hardly turn from one side to the other while lying on the table. Putting any pressure at all on her low back was putting too much pressure. This girl was far too young to be in the amount of pain she was in.

Fast forward two weeks later and this patient came in with zero pain. Absolutely zero pain. Pain-free. In a little less than 2 weeks when she had suffered disabling and excruciating pain for 3 months. She got back into her life and asking us when we thought it would be OK to get back into the gym.

Now THAT is being productive, folks!

This type of thing happens all of the time in chiropractic clinics in Amarillo, TX and all over the world. The public just doesn't typically hear all of these stories.

Avoid Unnecessary Medication

With our country in the grips of an opioid crisis, this one really goes without saying. However, we'll give you some quick stats to underline the point. In 2017 alone, over 72,000 Americans died of opioid-related overdoses. To pur that into perspective, over 58,000 soldiers died in the Vietnam war and that was calculated over a time period from the 1950s through the 1980s or so.

In the last 3-4 years, approximately 200,000 Americans have died from opioid-related overdoses. 500,000 died in the entire Civil War so there's some perspective for us all. Mroe recently, Americans are more likely to die of opioids than dying from being in a car wreck.

Here's the good news. Pain changes a person but chiropractic care in Amarillo, TX can change pain. We absolutely keep people off of opioids every day. One of the leading causes of opioid addiction is chronic back pain. That's exactly what we do! That's what we're best at treating!

One of the biggest medical entities now promotes spinal manipulative therapy (chiropractic care) as a first-line therapy for back pain. That means they're telling you to go to a chiropractor before taking even ibuprofen or tylenol. Certainly before shots or surgery. Without a doubt.

As you might guess, when you're not drugged up on opioids, you're more productive.

Improved Sleep

You don't sleep well when you are in pain. Whe nyou don't sleep well, you don't function as well the next day and production is low. We need about 8 hours for the best function the next day. Too much sleep and we're still sluggish so there has to be a balance. We can lower the level of pain and stress and that allows people to sleep better and more soundly.

When it all works together, you're more productive and as a result, you're happier and more fulfilled.

Yep, chiropractic can help that.
