Chiropractor In Amarillo: How To Find The Best Chiropractor Your Family?
Jeff Williams, DC, FIANM, an Amarillo chiropractor, helps educate
Having only practiced in Amarillo, Texas for 10 years, at this point, it is too early to expect to be given the title “Best Chiropractor in Amarillo.” However, that is a goal that all chiropractors in Amarillo should be striving for every single day they are in the clinic treating patients.
I’ve never heard of somebody that simply wanted to be adequate. It is inherently American to be the best in your field. So, Best Chiropractor in Amarillo is most certainly my goal. Week to week, month to month, and year-to-year.
The goal of being the very best at what we do drives our practice.
I believe firmly that you cannot reach a big goal without doing all of the little things correctly. It doesn’t matter whether it is a sports team that wins the state championship, whether it is a school that gets recognized for their students’ high marks, or whether it is a health clinic that excels. Everything that is recognized for excellence started with smaller building blocks.
The smaller building blocks, when each is done at a high level, add up to create a greater good. That is exactly what we strive for at Creek Stone Integrated Care.
That is exactly what will hopefully, eventually, earn us the reputation as the best chiropractor in Amarillo, Texas. If not in an official capacity, then at least in the hearts and minds of our patients that come through the doors.
When you are consistently working hard to make the small things great, people notice. Also, when you are building your business on a solid foundation, and paying close attention to the smaller building blocks, the big stuff seems to just take care of itself eventually.
Here are some examples of the small stuff.
Experience.
I remember when I was first starting out in practice and wondering why it was so challenging to get people to come and see me. Maybe it was because I had a baby face or not. Maybe it was because I didn’t wear glasses or have any gray in my hair. Now that I have been in practice for 20 years, I think it’s because people don’t trust brand-new doctors. And, knowing what I know now versus what I knew then, I can’t say that they were wrong.
You can have all of the Learning and Book smarts in the world but you cannot pay for the experience. Experience just happens. We can attend continuing education hours every year and we can improve our craft and get better at what we do as far as taking care of patients goes. But even with all of that, you still cannot replace experience. You just know more when you see 200 people in a week rather than 25 people in a week. Just like 1+1=2. It’s just a fact.
Patient-Centered.
Another small building block is the way I have chosen to run my practice. Unfortunately, my profession is not as standardized as I would like. Of course, neither is the medical field to an extent. But, it must be said that Creek Stone is a patient-centered clinic. In case you’re wondering what that means exactly, it means that the patient comes first, my office comes second, and I am last. As it should be. I will never have patients performing modalities or exercises unnecessarily simply to make money. Not only is it unethical, but it is also slightly illegal.
More importantly, we do not try to hit numbers unethically for business purposes. Trust me, if the patient needs it, we recommend it. But not because of financially motivated reasons. Being patient-centered and having a foundation of high ethics is of utmost importance to everyone at Creek Stone. Trustworthiness and honesty are what businesses have to build on. Otherwise, it’s a house of cards. It basically means that we do what is best for the patient first. The patient comes first. Not the doctor, the office, or money.
Philanthropy.
At Creek Stone, we give back. I had a friend tell me several years ago that he donates 10% of his profits to charitable causes or churches every single month. When I was younger, I was greedy and I guess I was just interested in taking care of myself and my family.
Later on, I read a book that taught about setting aside different accounts for different reasons. One of those reasons was for charitable causes or giving. With that information combined with my friend’s suggestion of monthly giving, I decided to give it a try.
I really cannot express to you how much I have come to truly enjoy philanthropy. Maybe a reputation of giving back will earn us the Best Chiropractor in Amarillo. Maybe it won’t. Either way, it helps people and it makes me and my family feel good to help others in need. We consistently give 10% of all profits back to our community churches and charitable causes. In fact, I started a local chapter of 100 Men Who Give A Damn where we donate 4 times per year to local small to medium-sized charities in need.
In the end, we should all look at the world in terms of “Leave it better than you found it.” If we all start doing that, we’re automatically in a better place.
Research & Guidelines.
Another important building block for us is deep knowledge in research and current best practice guidelines. Not only do I base everything and every service in our practice on research, but our treatment protocols themselves are based in current best practice guides. In addition, I also teach other chiropractors about current research having to do with chiropractic, spinal manipulation, an exercise rehabilitation through my weekly podcast called “Chiropractic Forward Podcast.” Yes, it’s really nichey but that is not the point.

I have been writing about research papers on my blog every single week since 2008. Since I had over a decade of material covering chiropractic research, I decided to compile it all into a book I will be releasing titled “The Truth About Chiropractic: A Unique Journey Into The Research.”
Research alone may not get me the title of Best Chiropractor in Amarillo but you could certainly say I have done my homework.
Education.
Did you know that chiropractors all graduate with the same basic science courses that your medical doctor took? It is true. Cell Biology, Histology, Pathology, Bone Pathology, Radiology, and more Radiology, Gross Anatomy where we dissected human beings, Systemic Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Neurology, and so much more.
We all graduate with this level of education so that alone does not make me the best chiropractor in Amarillo but, where chiropractors are required 16 hours of continuing education each year, I typically earn anywhere from 50-100 in an average year.
I have achieved expert status in the District courts for “Whiplash” and am currently pursuing Diplomate status with the American Chiropractic Orthopedists Board which requires 300 hours of extra education. To my knowledge, I will be the only Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Orthopedists in the entire Texas Panhandle. That just MAY put me in the argument for Best Chiropractor in Amarillo but it’s a long road!
Leadership.
Served in the leadership of our Statewide profession for close to a decade at this point. I served on the Board of Directors for the Texas Chiropractic Association for several years. The TCA is located in Austin Texas. After serving on the Board of Directors, I stepped down and took a post as the chairman of the Chiropractic Development Initiative where I sit presently. Getting back to my profession is just as important to me as philanthropy. I have gone to battle with my fellow chiropractors against the Texas Medical Association several times now. The very least you can say is, “It never gets boring.”
Results.
If we are trying each day to be the best chiropractor in Amarillo, part of that consists of having good results. There are a lot of things that go into getting good results. Some of the other small box we have already talked about go into getting good results. Things like research, guidelines, experience, being patient-centered, and education.
All of those things combine to raise your chances of getting good outcomes and good results in your patients. Not only are we interested in our patients feeling amazing, but we also want to do it in as few visits as possible. If a chiropractor has to see a patient 100 times over the course of a year, they may not be that great of a chiropractor, to begin with. Just think about that for a minute.
Relationships.
Lastly, I want to talk about relationships. No patient will ever consider their chiropractor to be the best chiropractor in Amarillo if they don’t have a good relationship with them. I think that is just common sense. I take personal relationships with patients very seriously and think that is one thing that is outstanding about chiropractors in general. We are known for creating relationships with our patients. We are also known for caring just a little more and for being somewhat personally invested in our patients’ recovery.
I understand that people may not leave the office the first appointment for the second appointment feeling amazing just yet. It’s just a fact that healing takes time. What I care the most about early on with a new patient is that they feel great about the experience they have in our office. It’s my opinion that great experiences come from building relationships.
I think it is important to attempt to List our attributes without sounding boastful. My goal here is not to be voted Best Chiropractor in Amarillo because of a blog post. My real goal is to let you know that we are always accepting new patients, we love what we do, we feel like we are good at what we do, and we want to help you if you need us.
And, if we ever get voted best chiropractor in Amarillo, that would just be the cherry on the top!
