Looking To Prevent Joint Surgery? Regenerative Medicine May Be The Solution

Plasma Rich Plasma, or PRP, is next generation healing

Today we're going to be talking about stubborn, persistent, and seemingly never-ending knee pain, foot pain, elbow pain, peripheral neuropathy, joint pain from arthritis, and a host of other conditions causing us pain daily.

Those suffering these issues have traditionally had limited options in the medical world, limited education on their conditions and how to manage them, and limited relief from their pain. Many sufferers have tried cortisone shots, hyaluronic acid shots, pain relievers, muscle relaxers, and prescription medications that just don't fix the problem. Many of these options only offer temporary relief and are associated with sometimes awful and debilitating side effects.

Going a step further, when physical therapy fails these patients, oftentimes risky, expensive, and painful surgeries are recommended that may or may not help at all. Sometimes they're told by the doctors that nothing can be done and they'll just have to learn to deal with it and live with it.

The good news is that there is a growing field in healthcare called Regenerative Medicine and we are helping pioneer it in the Texas Panhandle right here at Creek Stone Integrated Medicine. It's not widely known but Regenerative Medicine has already been able to help over 100,000 patients with conditions just like the ones mentioned. It's also helped prevent countless surgeries. That's a big, monstrous win for the patients that were suffering for years sometimes.

Regenerative Medicine is called that because in some cases, it has the potential to help repair injured and damaged tissues in the body in a way that hasn't been possible before.

One of the best forms of Regenerative Medicine used here at Creek Stone is called Platelet Rich Plasma. Also known as PRP. PRP is truly the next generation, non-surgical, and minimally invasive treatment that takes advantage of the body's own ability to heal, repair, and grow tissue.

Your body uses free circulating stem cells in the blood as well as growth an healing factors to start trying to fix and heal your area of pain and injury. In fact, stem cells and platelet secreting growth factors help fix injuries and are called to the area of injury by the plasma that is rich with platelets. Again, known as PRP.

The PRP calls the healing factors to the scene but also provides them with a boost of healing power to speed up and aid in the recovery process.

Generating PRP is a fairly straightforward process that we can perform right here in the clinic while the patient is here for their appointment. Our provider draws a small amount of blood from the patient. Which is put into a special centrifuge we purchased specifically for this process. A special solution is mixed in and then spun down in the special centrifuge until the plasma inside the vile has 3-6 times the number of platelets than normal plasma.

Then our medical provider extracts the plasma and injects it into the affected area. It's fast, it's simple, and it's effective!

Upon request, we can provide you with research projects for different joints and areas of the body proving that PRP is as effective and, most of the time, MORE EFFECTIVE and longer lasting than cortisone and hyaluronic acid injections. Not only that, but PRP doesn't tear up and degrade the structures and tissues of the joints like cortisone has been shown to do.

If you or someone you know and love are tired of dealing with pain or other problems that PRP can help and would like find a solution, we are happy to offer a consultation to speak with our medical provider to see if PRP might be the missing piece to the puzzle that they've been looking for.

Just call us at 806-355-3000 and we can get you on the schedule as soon as possible.
